Until now, to have a broadband Internet connection you needed a land line and an Adsl connection and had to pay a monthly fee for both services. This is fine if you are living here permanently and your house is close to the telephone exchange. However, if you live in a rural area or one of the many developments which don't have a telephone line or the capability for an ADSL connection your options have been limited.

Mercury Internet provides broadband Internet for people who are not living here fulltime or cannot obtain or justify the cost of a land line and an ADSL connection.

You will have seen adverts for free broadband with no monthly charges. These companies charge several hundred euros for an antenna with the promise of no ongoing costs. What they don't tell you is that when they visit your house they actually connect you to a neighbours unsecured wireless connection.

As soon as your neighbour has a power cut, your connection is lost. If they go on holiday for a couple of weeks and switch the electricity off, your connection is lost. Once they realise that their internet connection has become slow due to oher people "leeching" their connection and secures their wireless connection, your connection and "investment" of several hundred euros is lost. Nothing is free and somebody, somewhere, has to be paying for the internet connection. Unlike these companies, we do NOT connect you to a neighbours unsecured network. Instead, we have invested hundreds of thousands of euros building our own network to cover the areas along the coast and inland to provide you with fast and reliable broadband internet without requiring a land line. This involves us building towers, renting space on mountains, and paying for multiple internet connections at our HQ in Elviria. It all costs money, but the outcome is that we provide fast and reliable service to our growing base of satisfied clients.
